I LOVE La Mia. It's classic Pizza. And it's dependably that way. The Calzone are also fabulous. It's not a fancy schmancy menu which is reflected in the reasonable prices. The staff are great.
Went to La Mia tonight with my fiance I got 2 slices the staff are amazing and friendly the food was phenomenal I highly recommend this place to anybody who loves pizza
While there are literally thousands of pizza joints in New York, sometimes you get lucky and you find one in your neighborhood that is consistently good. I have tried most of the pizza places in my neighborhood, and while they all seem to do a good slice, La Mia stands out to me. Plus I have gotten to know the staff and they are always welcoming and work hard to keep my business. Sometimes I stop by for a nice lunch, other times I stop by late (they're open late) to have a slice after a good night out. Highly recommended for a slice anytime of day or night...
For late night / post bar pizza this place is delish and I can't recommend it enough. They are making new pies at 3 in the morning so the slices are always fresh.
I was craving pizza. I have to basically sneak off and get it, because no one that I know in NY will eat it. Except for someone with whom I've lost touch. Sigh. The Mommy has returned to the UES, so I needed to find a new place. La Mia was nearby, and offers cauliflower and gluten-free whole pies. But I only needed a slice to quell the yearning for real NY pizza. La Mia has a HUGE selection of slices, with all manner of toppings. I decided to go for a calorie bomb, since I hadn't had breakfast, and went with pepperoni, sausage, and extra cheese. Probably should have gone with pepperoni and extra cheese. They didn't remove the casing from the sausage, which left unpleasant stringy things on the pizza. Ewww. Service was typical NY pizza parlor: "Whaddya want? Six dollars." You will not be greeted graciously, lol. It's a clean space, with several tables. Except for the sausage strings, very enjoyable and definitely edible.
I love NY pizza. And let's be honest here, who doesn't? Out of the thousands of pizzerias in NYC, La Mia remains my favorite. Absolutely fantastic pizza at prices you'd expect to see in NJ. This is a must eat location that I make sure to frequent whenever I'm in the area. Matter of fact I've gone there a few times when I wasn't even close. You know how it is with pizza cravings. Distance is secondary to desire :) YUM.
